These ‘screen starlets’ comprise a series of works that subtly but horribly exaggerates their beauty. In these promotional photographs, they are selling a very particular sense of glamour and beauty, which here is exaggerated to near caricature. In the distortion, the symmetry becomes disrupted, something begins to jar in our reading of their beauty and their faces. These works are interested in what can be disrupted internally within existing forms of representation, that are visually seductive but increasingly culturally alien to us.
