Inspired by Simone de Beauvoir’s essay, ‘Brigitte Bardot and the Lolita Syndrome’, these works seek to find connections, both jarring and fitting, between the two cultural figures. The result is unsettling woman-child figures, drawing from the same performative vein of femininity.
